Base Shoe Moulding Catalog

A base shoe moulding is a functional narrow horizontal wooden profile applied to the bottom of a piece of baseboard they hide gaps left between an uneven floor surface and the bottom of the baseboard. Base shoe profiles get secured to the base molding itself, not the floor; this practice will keep the wood from splitting due to seasonal changes in relative humidity.
