Base Shoe 5/8" - 5

This 5/8" - 5 base shoe measures .625" wide by .375" thickness. The profile is comprised of a 7/32" radius quarter round attached to a .103" tall by .375" wide stepped fillet. Because the width is so tiny, we designed the knives for milling two pieces simultaneously, reducing production time by one-half. The blades will come within .010" of the bedplates while milling, so a sacrificial bed plate should also be considered for this splitting operation. As with all split profile designs, we highly recommend installing an anti-kickback device on the machinery before attempting this multiple-piece splitting operation.
