Baseboard 7-1/4" - 5

This widely popular 7-1/4" - 5 base moulding measures 7.250" wide by .562" thickness, requiring a 7-1/2" wide blank of four-quarter lumber for milling on a commercial moulder. The customary profile composes a 5-3/4" broad horizontal line segment with a 1/8" deep, slightly beveled vertical step on the top center. Joined to a graceful down-sloping french type curve with a 23/64" wide splay face bevel leaving a 1/8" thickness dimension on the right side of the design. We offer an alternative profile in the same width but 3/16" thicker for use with heftier door casings for your review and consideration, baseboard 7.500" - 37.

We offer some alternative base cap profiles that will reduce knife steel and lumber cost. Instead of having to grind cutters for this entire profile, you may want to review and consider a few of these patterns to add on top of a piece of S4S (surfaced four sides) wood; base cap 1.375" - 6, base cap 1.375" - 12 and base cap 1.375" - 17.
