This functional 3/4" - 48 shadow gap siding measures .750" in thickness, and the width is adjustable to any desired size within the parameters of the moulder/shaper utilized to mill the pattern. The profile comprises a .375" thick by .437" wide tongue on the left and a .352" wide by .250" deep groove on the right edge. When two pieces of milled lumber get joined, they create a 3/16" wide by 3/16" deep channel on both face sides of the merged boards. There is a .008" void in the joint area for expansion and contraction of the wood during seasonal changes in relative humidity.
