Tongue & Groove 4-1/2" - 8

This 4-1/2" - 8 tongue & groove semi-octagonal door panel measures 4.875" width by 1.250" thickness. The overall size allows for a 5-1/8" wide blank of six-quarter lumber for milling on a commercial moulder. The custom profile contains a 3/8" wide by 1/2" tall tongue & groove; the top radial cutter head on the moulder controls the void in the joined area for seasonal changes in relative humidity. The detail comprises three semi-octagonal sections divided by three 1/4" broad sunk fillets. When two pieces of milled lumber merge, they create a 4-1/2" face coverage on both sides of the boards.
