This newel post nosing 1-3/4" - 6 measures 1.750" wide by 1.000" thickness, necessitating a two-inch-wide blank of five-quarter lumber for milling on a commercial molder. The standard profile contains a 1-1/32" wide half-circle on the top left. The half-round connects to a 3/16" wide fillet in the center, merged with a 3/8" radius cove, leaving a 5/16" thickness dimension on the design's right side.
