17/32" Half Round

This 17/32" half round measures .531" wide by .265" thickness, with a .255" depth of cut on the top horizontal cutters. Caution, the knives will come within .010" of the machine bed plates when milling this detail. We recommend a wooden, phenolic or plastic sacrificial bed plate be used for these milling operations.

The convex profile is comprised of two 17/32" wide half round circles with a 5/32" wide splitter in the middle of the pattern. As with every splitting operation, we recommend installing an anti-kickback device on the moulder before attempting to mill any of our multiple profiles. Utilize fall-off rips of lumber while doubling production in half of the amount of time with this unique split two-half-round profile; the rough lumber size for this detail would be about 1-1/2" wide. This pattern is not intended to be used for milling a bullnose detail; it has no blend area built into the knife because half rounds are milled from the top horizontal cutter head; please search our bullnose for a profile that mills from the right and left vertical cutterheads, all these types of knives have blend areas built into the design.
