Tongue & Groove 7/8" - 2

This 7/8" - 2 shadow siding measures .875" thickness, allowing any size width of four or five-quarter lumber for milling on an industrial moulder. The striking profile consists of a 3/8" tall by 7/16" deep groove on the right edge. The opposite side retains a 3/8" tall by 3/4" wide tongue. Built into the design is an equally spaced void of .062". The area is for expansion and contraction of the wood during seasonal changes in relative humidity. When pieces of lumber join, they create a 5/16" wide by 1/4" deep gap on both face sides of the merged boards. Whether vertically or horizontally installed, the pattern creates a pronounced 5/16" broad shadow gap that uses natural light to enhance the building's visual effects.
