This 9/16" - 3 tongue & groove siding measures .562" in thickness, and the width gets milled to any desired size within the parameters of the moulder/shaper used to machine the pattern. The profile comprises a 3/16" tall by 25/64" wide groove, a slightly chamfered edge on the right, and a 3/16" tall by 7/8" wide tongue with a beveled edge on the left. When two pieces of milled lumber join, they create a 9/16" wide by 5/32" deep v-shaped channel on one face side of the merged boards. There is a .010" void in the joint area for expansion and contraction of the lumber during seasonal changes in relative humidity.
