Tongue & Groove 3/8" - 3

This 3/8" - 3 blind nailing tongue & groove measures .375" thickness, allowing the pattern to get machined out of resawn five-quarter lumber. The width gets milled to any desired size within the parameters of the moulder or shaper used to cut the pattern. The uniquely designed profile is composed of an offset 3/8" wide by 5/32" tall groove and a 7/16" wide by 5/32" thick tongue, with a .007" void in the joint area for expansion and contraction of the wood during seasonal changes in relative humidity. When two pieces of milled lumber join, they create a decorative 1/16" wide fine line channel on the face side of the merged boards. During installation, the tongue side gets secured first; this allows the nail to hide when the groove side slides over the tongue edge.
