Tongue & Groove 5-3/4" - 2

This 5-3/4" - 2 beadboard tongue & groove measures 6.062" width by .625" thickness, requiring a 6-5/16" wide blank of four-quarter lumber for milling on an industrial-style molder. The beaded profile contains two 3-1/16" flat sections in the center flanked by 1/16" broad sunk fillets with 1/16" round-overs used in transition to the 2-1/2" broad flat sections. Both half-beads are lower than the surface plane by 1/64" for sanding if requested. A .006" void is built into the joint area for expansion and contraction of the wood during seasonal changes in relative humidity. When two pieces of milled lumber get joined, they create 3/8" wide channels on the exposed 5-3/4" broad face, with a 1/16" gap on the bottom side of the merged boards to enable blind nailing during installation.
