Tongue & Groove 5" - 16

This 5" - 16 tongue & groove log cabin siding measures 5-3/8" wide overall by 1.406" thickness. The log cabin detail will require six to eight-quarter lumber and three profiling stations to mill the pattern on an industrial moulder. The profile comprises a 5-29/64" radius semicircle top. The sides consist of tongue and groove joint detail with a .040" void area for expansion and contraction of the wood that occurs from seasonal changes in relative humidity. When two planks of milled lumber are joined together, they create a log cabin siding with 5" face exposure. It also produces a 3/32" drip edge on the board in front of it, this will help disperse moisture from the joint area of the merged boards, the back side or bottom of the pattern retains a decorative 3/8" wide by 7/32" deep vee groove which adds great character to the overall design.
