Tongue & Groove 3-1/2" - 1

This 3-1/2" - 1 tongue & groove wainscot measures 3.750" wide overall, with a face coverage dimension of 3.500" by .625" thickness, allowing the pattern to be machined from four-quarter lumber. The decorative profile comprises a three-inch wide straight line segment in the center, attached to a 1/8" wide chamfer and a 1/4" wide recessed bead on the left. The opposite side retains a 1/8" wide by 1/8" deep bevel. The functional tongue and groove portion consist of a 7/32" tall by 9/32" deep groove with a .005" void in the joint area; this is for expansion and contraction of the wood during seasonal changes in relative humidity. When two pieces of milled lumber are joined together they create a 1/2" wide v-joint with a center bead.
