Tongue & Groove 1-1/2" - 7

This 1-1/2" - 7 tongue & groove decking comprises a 7/16" tall by 1/2" broad tongue with a 1/2" tall by 9/16" wide groove. Both knife designs have a 1/2" wide by 1/4" deep chamfer on one side edge. When two pieces of finished milled lumber are butted together they will create a 1" wide by 1/4" deep v-joint down the center of the joined boards. There is a built-in .062" void in the joint area for expansion and contraction of the wood during seasonal changes in relative humidity, and to allow the planks to be installed easily. The pattern gets milled from the right and left vertical cutterheads allowing various widths with a 1.500" thickness. The suggested rough wood rip size using eight-quarter lumber is 1/4" larger in width (including the tongue) than the sought-after milled dimension.
