Tongue & Groove 1-1/4" - 8

This 1-1/4" - 8 tongue & groove octagon measures 1.250" thickness. The width is adjustable to any desired size within the limits of the machinery used to mill the pattern. These cutters can mill a twenty-two and one-half degree bevel on both sides of a piece of lumber measuring 1-1/4" thickness. The t & g are offset to enable the pattern to be milled horizontally flat with the proper draft angles keeping the integrity of the design within tolerances between sharpening.

After machining, these will create an octagon shape by joining eight pieces of lumber together. We purposely left a few thousand-inch of void in the joint area for glue to escape from during fabrication. May we suggest using Scotch or 3M # 355 tape for tight joints and easy assembly? After the drying process has been completed using a small amount of naphtha/solvent to dissolve the glue on the tape, you wouldn't want the tape to raise the grain of the lumber; you can create some of the finest-looking octagonal-shaped columns in the industry with this pattern.
