Tongue & Groove 1" - 2

This 1" - 2 channel/gap siding measures random widths by 1.000" in thickness. This detail allows any size width of five-quarter lumber for machining within the parameters of the moulder used to mill the pattern. The straightforward design comprises a 1/4" wide by 9/32" deep groove on the right edge. The opposite side retains a 9/32" wide by 1/2" deep tongue. When two pieces of milled lumber join, they create a 1/4" wide by 23/64" deep channel with a .010" void in the joint for expansion and contraction of the wood during seasonal changes in relative humidity.
