This rustic shiplap siding 7-1/4" - 8 measures 7.250" wide by 1-1/2" thickness when milled. The saw kerf is .125", and after resawing into two pieces, the finish thickness will be 1-1/8" on one edge and 1/4" thickness on the opposite side. The back edge rabbet measures 1/2" wide by 1/4" tall with a 6.882-degree angle to receive the next piece, typically face-nailed above the rabbeted edge during installation. The recommended rough wood rip size using eight-quarter lumber is 7-1/2" wide, then resawn to the 1-1/8" thickness. The knife design has a v-notch built-in on the sides to help the band saw operator identify the location of the cut.
