Shiplap Siding 7-1/8" - 7

This 7-1/8" - 7 channel shiplap siding measures 7.125" wide by .718" thickness, permitting the detail to be machined out of four-quarter lumber. The decorative profile is comprised of a 5-3/8" wide line segment with a 1-3/4" wide rabbet on the left edge, one-half inch of this area is tapered five degrees to fit under the rabbet on the backside when installed. When two pieces of milled lumber are joined together they create a 1-1/4" wide by 11/32" deep channel on one side of the merged boards, making the exposed face coverage dimension 6-5/8" wide. We offer alternative patterns in this same style but with different channel widths for your review and consideration, shiplap - 7.125" - 1, shiplap - 7.125" - 10 and shiplap - 7.125" - 16.

This downloadable cad dxf file contains three skillfully drafted template designs for creating profile knives for this pattern, one for the rabbet on the left cutter head, one for milling the entire width of the profile and one for milling just the rabbet on the top cutter head, this knife design will enable rough sawn lumber to be utilized as the finished face for clients who desire a rustic siding.
