Applied Moulding 1/2"

This t-shaped applied moulding 1/2" measures .500" wide by .250" thickness, allowing fall-off rips of four-quarter lumber to be used for milling. The functional profile is composed of a 1/2" wide flat top with 1/8" tall side edges the bottom consists of a 1/4" wide by 1/8" elevated slightly tapered vertical lines flanked by 1/8" broad line segments. Be aware that most industrial molders come standard with a 5/16" thickness guide fence after the left cutter head on the machine. You will need a 3/16" thickness guide fence so the hold-down shoe doesn't bottom out on the standard guide fence.

Caution; the knives will come within .020" of the machine bed plates when milling this detail. We recommend a wooden, phenolic, or plastic sacrificial bed plate be used for these milling operations. We strongly suggest an anti-kickback device be installed on the machinery for safety concerns before attempting milling procedures involving splitting lumber into pieces.
