Applied Moulding 2-3/4"

This 2-3/4" applied moulding measures 2.750" wide by 1.500" thickness, necessitating the use of eight-quarter lumber for milling on an industrial moulder. The detail is composed of a 3/4" wide by 3/8" deep stepped line on the left, connected to a 1/4" broad line segment that transitions into a 1-1/4" wide cong'e, joined to a 1/4" tall vertical step with a 1/2" wide straight line, leaving a 3/8' thickness dimension on the right side of the pattern. The beautiful profile was originally designed to be part of an architrave. A solid piece of surfaced four sides (S4S) lumber would be installed over the door opening. This profile would be applied to the top of that piece of lumber, creating the door header.
