This unique newel post applied moulding 1-5/16" - 14 measures 1.312" wide by .625" thickness, requiring a 1-9/16" wide blank of four-quarter lumber for milling on an industrial molder. The embellishing profile contains an 11/32" broad flat line with a 1/16" rolled edge connected to a downward tapered line on the top left. The angled line connects to a 1/16" wide sunken fillet merged with a two tangent radius s-shaped curvature in the center with an elliptical-shaped convex arc on the right side of the design.
Caution: the cutters will come within .020" of the machine bed plates when milling this detail. We recommend a wooden, phenolic, or plastic sacrificial bed plate for these milling operations.
