Picture Frame 2-13/16" - 2

This concave picture frame 2-13/16" - 2 measures 2.812" wide by 1.156" thickness, allowing the pattern to be milled from either five or six-quarter lumber. The dished-out profile will add to the depth of field when encased around the artwork; this design is popular with religious-themed artwork. The profile is composed of an 11/32" wide straight line with a 3/64" eased edge on the left, connected to a deep down sloping two tangent radius scotia, joined to a 3/8" wide semicircular arc flanked by two 1/16" wide line segments and a 9/32" cove with a 3/64" rounded edge on the right side of the pattern. The small rabbet dimension for encasing the artwork is 1/4" wide by 5/16" tall; there is little room for adjusting the height of the rabbet with a simple axial movement of the left cutter head on the molder.
