This picture frame stretcher bar measures 1-5/8" width by 9/16" thickness. These types of mouldings are utilized by the artist to stretch a painting canvas over and around the edges creating a 9/16" thick gallery wrap, the canvas is secured to the backside of the wooden frame, generally with staples.
