This modern 5" - 7 handrail measures 2.562" in width by 5" tall, allowing a 5-1/4" wide blank of twelve-quarter lumber for machining on an industrial moulder. The contemporary pattern composes a flat top with a 1/2" radius edge on the sides. The edges transition inward and outward by utilizing one-inch and half-inch convex semicircles to the finger grip area in the center. The lower portion retains 1-23/32" vertical sides with a 1/8" by 1/8" notch in the lower right & left corners. The dado for mounting is 1-1/32" wide by one inch deep, but any size dado will suffice.
