This beautifully tall handrail 2-3/4" - 26 measures 2.750" wide by 3.375" tall, necessitating the use of glued-up pieces of four, five, or six-quarter lumber to manufacture the blank for milling this detail on an industrial moulder. The modern profile comprises a 1/16" radius point flanked by two bidirectional 10.784-degree angled lines with 1/16" eased edges on the top. The sides consist of 5/8" tall by 1/8" perpendicular lines joined to a two tangent radius ogee derived from two 5/32" semicircles with a 3/32" broad inset line in the upper portion, attached to a 2-1/8" tall line segment with 1/16" round-overs on the lower edges, the baluster dado measures 1-1/4" wide by 3/8" deep, leaving two 3/8" broad segments on the bottom edges.
