Door jambs are pieces of lumber utilized to hold and contain doors or windows in place to the outer frame of a door or window opening. After installation, door/window casing is installed around the perimeter. brick molding is more often utilized on the exterior of a building, both providing an architecturally framed look while simultaneously hiding gaps between the wall and framed opening.
