This Greek echinus 3-13/16" - 3 crown mould measures 3.813" wide by 1-1/16" thickness, enabling the pattern to be milled sprung (laying horizontally flat) out of five-quarter lumber. The ovolo shaped profile is sometimes referred to as a cymatium, it is generally used in a cornice buildup, or to support the abacus of a Doric or Tuscan era capital. This pattern is composed of 15/32" tall by 11/64" broad squared lines on top, connected to an egg-shaped two tangent radii elliptical arc in the center, attached to a 27/64" cove flanked by a 3/16" tall vertical, and a 3/16" horizontal line at the bottom of the pattern. The spring angles are set at forty-five degrees, these specific back bevels set the installed height at 2-3/4" tall with a projection of 2-41/64" wide.
