This AWI 2043 casing/chair rail 4" - 72 measures 4.000" wide by 1.000" thickness. The modern symmetrical profile is composed of a 2-1/4" wide by 1/4" deep sunk fillet in the center, flanked by a 1/8" radius round over that transitions into a 7/8" wide raised fillet with 3/64" eased edges on each side of the design. We offer another width of this casing for your review and consideration,
symmetrical casing 4.125". The Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) doesn't designate width or thickness dimensions on any profiles in their moulding catalog. That decision is up to the client who uses those specific designs; there is no standard size; it is whatever you desire.
