On this moulding knife layout the maximum depth of cut is .437", the maximum height of cut is .437". Every sprung moulding we design have a height of cut dimensions near the degree bevel on the layout papers we provide, that number must be smaller than the height number in this equation .437" for this design to be able to cut the entire back bevel while milling, if not, please select a larger size bevel of the same degree. We intentionally design all our sprung mouldings with forty-five-degree back bevels and under to be milled on the right vertical spindle, and all forty-five-degree back bevels and higher to be milled on the left vertical spindle. This custom design practice will save thousands of dollars in manufacturing cost over the years, as well as moulder setup time.
Try one of our 125% concentration ultimate Borazon grinding wheels, finish grinding at 3000 rpm with a twenty-degree back clearance angle, will create a superior micro edge on all your high-speed steel moulding knives. Here is an article to help you understand how to align a Borazon wheel to axial constant position on a Weinig R 960 profile knife grinder. During the machining process the moulding knives will be capable of milling some of the finest quality architectural mouldings you have ever produced.
