45 Degree Back Bevel Cutter - 21

These 45 Degree - 21 Back Bevel Moulding Blades are designed for milling a forty-five-degree chamfer on the backside of a crown, cove, or bed mould when milled horizontally flat from the right or left vertical cutterheads. When installed, these knives create half the determining factor of the final height and projection of these patterns. The other part of the equation for back cuts on these mouldings will be a degree that combined equals ninety or slightly more, depending on the manufacturer's allowed tolerances. On this cutter layout, the maximum depth of the cut is .375", and the maximum height of the cut is fixed at .375". Every sprung profile we design has a "height of cut" number near the degree angle on the layout papers we provide. That dimension must be smaller than the height number, in this equation, .375", for this knife to be able to cut the entire back bevel while milling; if not, please select a more significant size slope of the same degree. We intentionally design all our sprung mouldings of forty-five-degree and below to be milled on the right vertical cutterhead and all forty-five-degree back bevels and higher to be milled on the left vertical spindle. This custom design practice will save thousands of dollars in manufacturing costs over the years and machine setup time.
