40 Degree Back Angle Cutter

This 40-degree back bevel cutter is designed for milling a forty-degree angle on the right side cutterhead on a piece of cove, crown, or bed mould during the milling process. This knife will create only half the determining factor of the final height and projection of the milled workpieces. The other half of the equation is generally a degree, which equals ninety degrees when combined with this angle. On this knife, the maximum depth of the cut is .938"; the full height from the zero point is 1.305". Every cove/crown/bed mould we design retains height numbers near that angle. That number must be smaller by .020" than the total height of the degree angle (in this case, 1.118") for this knife to work adequately while milling. If it's not, please select a different-sized bevel. We design all our cove/crown/bed mould patterns with forty-five degrees and under on the machine's right cutterhead. All forty-five-degree and higher angles are milled on the left cutter head. Over the years, our unique design practices will save thousands of dollars in manufacturing costs.
