On this moulding cutter layout the maximum depth of cut is .519", the maximum height of cut is fixed at 1.019". Every sprung moulding we design have height of cut numbers near the degree bevel on the layout papers we provide, that number must be smaller than the height number, in this case 1.019" for this knife to be able to cut the entire back bevel while milling, if not please select a larger size height bevel of the same degree, we have a few options available for your review. We purposely layout all our sprung mouldings with forty-five degree back bevels and under to be milled on the right vertical spindle, and all forty-five degree back bevels and higher to be milled on the left vertical moulder spindle. This custom design practice will save thousands of dollars in manufacturing cost over the years, as well as moulder setup time.
Ever wonder why some mouldings look and feel better than others in the industry? Please read our article on moulding knife marks, learn how machine feed rates, and rpm of the cutter head can directly affect the quality of your finished mouldings.
