22.5 Degree Bevel Octagon

This chamfered molding was designed to manufacture an octagon with eight pieces of wood measuring 1-1/8" in thickness, widths are adjustable to desired sizes, the profile in the center of the picture retains a 22.5-degree bevel on both side edges. To assemble simply place horizontal pieces of 3M or Scotch # 355 packing tape (this tape will not stretch) across the joints to bring them together, then place a strip of tape down the entire joint vertically, and another piece over the taped joint on each side, flip the boards over after taping, place a bead of glue into the V joint, now fold the boards in a rolling fashion securing the final piece with another piece of tape. After drying use Naptha to dissolve the glue, that way you won't raise the grain or cause damage to the wood.
