Bed Mould 2-1/4" - 2

This bed mould 2-1/4" - 2 measures 2.250" wide by .562" thickness. The profile retains the classic radius arc, vertical fillet, and cavetto on the bottom. When installed, the height becomes 1-7/8" tall with a projection of 1-1/4" wide. The spring angles get set at thirty-eight and fifty-two degrees. These profile designs were intended to be transitional pieces, generally installed below the corona and above the frieze board. Please take note of how the pattern is rounded at the top of the detail; when people look at a bed mould, it will tend to easily lead their eyes to the next element of the cornice construction, unlike a crown moulding which is generally squared at the top, implicating it ends and completes the design.
