This distinctive 1-5/8" - 9 base cap comprises a 1/16" flat section at a 3/8" thickness forming a quirk when applied to a piece of S4S (surfaced four sides) lumber on the top left. It connects to a two-tangent radius s-shaped curvature joined to a thumbnail-shaped convex bead with a small ogee on the design's right edge. The pattern measures 1.625" in width by .625" in thickness. The recommended rough wood rip size using four-quarter lumber is 1-7/8" wide. Caution: When cutting this detail, the knives will come within .020" of the machine bed plates. We recommend a wooden, phenolic, or plastic sacrificial bed plate for these milling operations.
