The stunning design is comprised of a 1-11/16" radius arc in the center, attached to a small half round circle and a 13/32" radius cove, with a cyma recta flanked by vertical fillets positioned on top. The lower half of the design consists of a 27/32" radius cavetto joined to a 9/64" radius half round bead with a 3/8" radius cove flanked by a vertical and horizontal fillet at the bottom.
The spring angles are fixed at forty-five degree, search our bevels category by the degree to find a set of back bevel cutters appropriate for creative crown moulding design. These specific back bevel cutters set the installed height at 4-1/8" tall with a projection of 4-3/16" wide. Five high points in the detail are intentionally positioned on the same level plane, this design feature will assure excellent hold down conditions while milling the detail on an industrial moulder providing the moulder pressure shoe is calibrated.
Please read our commentary about axial constant position for crown moulding bevels, the article will help you dial this profile in axially on the first try when milling this detail on an industrial moulder, provided the moulder is axially calibrated.
